GMUNK came in with a great script and concept for a luminous ball of light that changes from one soft neon glow to another, creating a glowing trail which marks the captivating movements of U.S. Olympic gymnast Laura Zeng.

 

He wanted to shoot freehand off the shoulder, free and easy. Therefore, we needed to create the timelapse effects without a motion control system.

 

I created the glowing long exposure elements entirely in Nuke, utilizing the camera tracker, 3D environment, the particle system and deep compositing. Render times were huge yo. I also was the lead of the compositing team.
